Setting the Home Page

Hotaru 1.2 introduced the ability to change the home page.

For a social bookmarking site, the Bookmarking plugin automatically sets the "Popular" page as the home page, but you can set a different page as the home page instead. For example, you could make a splash page or even a magazine-style page full of widgets.

At the top of index.php in your theme folder, you'll need this:

$h->setHome();

Upload a custom template to your theme folder and change setHome() to this:

$h->setHome('custom_template');

Where "custom_template" is the name of your template file without the .php extension.

For a social bookmarking site, the Bookmarking plugin will detect that an alternative home page has been set and adds a "Popular" link to the navigation bar. If no home page is set, the plugin sets the "Popular" page as the home page.

Advanced Usage

As of Hotaru 1.3, the setHome() function can take a second parameter which is assigned to $h->pageName if $h->pageName is currently empty.

public function setHome($h, $home = '', $pagename = '')
